Forest microclimate in time and space: real impacts of climate change on selected protected areas

1.4.2023-31.3.2026

TAČR PPŽ SS06010011

We will create an atlas of microclimate of selected protected areas for the period 2020-2100, which will allow the evaluation of the real impacts of climate change on the microclimate in protected areas. We will support the application of these maps with a certified methodology for applied use of climate data in nature conservation. We will derive the buffering effect of forest cover of various composition and structure from the offsets of current measurements and data from CHMI stations. Using landscape scale forest simulation model, we will derive future forest structure and interpolate microclimate maps for the atlas with 21st century climate change scenarios. We will create a set of measures for effective species conservation through microclimate protection.
